About
The ASC.gov website serves as a critical resource for the Appraisal Subcommittee, overseeing the real estate appraisal process across the United States. The redesign focused on enhancing usability, improving navigation, and ensuring accessibility for a wide range of users, including government officials, appraisers, and the public.
Problem
The current site was extremely dated, not responsive, and using technology that Drupal no longer supported. The client was looking for a complete overhaul. We needed to identify what features could be eliminated and which should be introduced to best serve users.
Their call center and other roles were very overtaxed. They struggled with finding simple answers for their clients complex problems and lack a resource to point individuals in need.
During the wireframing process, I collaborated with teammates to create low & high-fidelity wireframes to visualize the overall structure and flow of the website. This helped establish a clear information hierarchy, streamline navigation, and optimize the user journey. Key features like a searchable database, regulatory guidance, and public resources were carefully mapped out to ensure ease of use and accessibility across devices. These wireframes were refined through stakeholder feedback and usability considerations, providing the blueprint for the final design.
Wireframes & Design
I specifically designed wireframes for their interactive map and search results to enhance user interaction. The interactive map allowed users to easily locate appraisal regulations by state, while the search results wireframe ensured quick access to relevant documents and resources. These elements were carefully mapped to prioritize usability and responsiveness across all devices, serving as the foundation for the final design.
